As of July 16th, I've been here four years. Some people have been here a lot longer than me, but I think they'd agree.

In the last few months, I've noticed a sizeable upswing in the number of guides, tutorials, compendiums, open-source projects, you name it. There's so many people right now putting a huge amount of effort into contributing to the collective knowledge of LPF, for no reason other than to contribute.

That's really awesome. It makes me very proud to be a part of this community.

That's all.

Keep being awesome. :D

Seriously though, this needed to be said. Yall have done a lot, with open source drivers, LPMs, firmware up the wahoo. This is why I joined this forum, and it's only getting better. I love being part of this society :)

Kinda wish the place would be more organised tho.
I mean... gees .
My man cave is messy enough , the forums seriously need to start organizing its thread , upgrading to web 2.0

Mobile edition.

Streamlined Metro interface.

Facebook sharing interfaces.

Daily editor's articles.

Inviting major laser producers to open their own blogs and advertise on the website.

News updates ,technical support via a proper request channel and more.

Kinda like Tom's Hardware

I also think LPF has become much more of a community, and much more friendly in the time that I've been here. I haven't been here as long as many vets, but it certainly feels that way to me :)

16th July is my birthday :D

And what does that have to do with anything in this thread?

Happy belated birthday to you, but please don't post unless you have something of substance to add to the conversation.

Totally agree! All kinds of awesome stuff going on around here.

I dont think the forum needs to be like to toms hardware. A few small updates sure, but otherwise keep it simple.

a bit cluttered and 2004 tho.

I mean its not necessary for LPF to update to web 2.0 , but it would really clean up the interface and make navigation a bit more visually stimulating you know...

A picture tells a thousand words . WELCOME the newcomers with LOADS OF PICS PICS PICS!

Java powered GUI and more!

Someone's on their period

No, someone just posts unrelated things and then takes offense when being called out for it. I completely agree with the person who said your post was unrelated since it was. This isnt a "whens your birthday" thread, this is a "stay awesome LPF" thread and birthdays have nothing to do with keeping LPF awesome.

my $0.005 cents

The "organization" here has been mostly built by the membership through the years

It is a bit organic, but it is hard to argue with success

Peace,

Gotta say, when I joined there wasn't as much (readily available) information. I had to read through multiple builds threads to find something that is now in a few stickies.

I'm glad to see that there's more compilation threads of information, and more Open Source projects for almost all aspects :)

Kudos to LPF, and the members who contribute to the forum!
