I figured you guys could help me on this.

I have been looking into these "special" lights and was wondering if I couldn't just make one myself?

This is the light I am referring to.. McLaren Photonic Therapy® from McLaren USA, Inc. - Product Information®

So if I am correct, couldn't I just buy a 4.5V LED flashlight and replace the bulbs with Red LED 660nm Diode lights and have the same tool?

I do not want to spend THAT kind of money to test their theory. So I was hoping to be able to make my own to see if it does what they claim.

Here are a few others...

Photonic Health, Photonic Light Therapy, Photonic Light Therapy Products, Photonic Light Therapy Education, Photonic Light Therapy Courses, Photonic Lights

Light Therpay for horses

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

P.S. I know you guys think this therapy is "hookey" and that is my point. I can't spend that kind of money to test a theory. This is why I am asking if I can make the same thing for under $20 vs $500. So useful input on making one of these is greatly appreciated.

Wow $20.00 is a long way from $500.00 I don't know how you think this is possible but just to let you know a host to house the LD's will cost you about
$20.00 then you have to buy drivers and LD's and batteries and a charger, nope it's going to run a bit more that $20.00

I would imagine "red map lights" are nothing more than red LED's

You can also buy bike tail light. They usually house high power red diodes, and are darn cheap.

Obviously you did not read my entire post. I was hoping for more mature responses.

There was nothing immature about FP's response, he was merely telling you the truth. Just because it's not what you want to hear doesn't make it an immature response. You're lucky it's 2:30 in the morning and i'm too lazy to hit the neg rep button..

Of course you can.... those expensive "therapy" lights
are nothing more than glorified 660nm Flashlights.

That being said....

Obviously you did not read my entire post. I was hoping for more mature responses.

Obviously you feel entitled...:cryyy:

What makes you think that we are required to answer your
questions ONLY in the manner that YOU want...

What makes you think that you are entitled to be spoonfed
by this Forum community.

Merely doing a little research and reading on the Forum and
Google would have answered your questions.

The response by FP was full of useful information had you
concentrated on that rather than your ego.

Not a very good start on a new Forum....IMO

My response was due to the fact that they had mentioned I needed a host, drivers, batteries etc, when I had posted that I was planning on using an LED flashight, which would have all those items. (or I would "assume" it did) So I felt the person did not read my entire post.

I don't feel entitled. I was looking for help from a forum that I figured would have the knowledge that I don't about LED's and this particular unit.

The light from 5 LEDs will be so low... what's the point? You might as well sit in front of a desk lamp for the same level of red light.

You don't get it .. it is not normal light .. it is SPECIAL .. if normal light could do it, why would you need expansive lamp right ? Right !?
