Link to good 3.6volt batts + charger for dilda

I'm in the US and I simply need a link to a good store in the country which sells these 3.6volt "upgrade" batteries + a charger for them. This will make the dilda burn much better than the stock 3.0volt batteries right?

check the deals and discounts thread i posted for CR2 recahrgeables for $1 on ebay......then just get a cheap charger from DX

EDIT: the batteries on ebay are in florida too so they get here quick.......but the charger here in the states is a bit pricey.
you can get 2 batteries plus charger for $17 (what i bought) off ebay.

Why don't you want to order from an eBay seller or from DX?  The set (with 4 batteries) is only $14.75 from Hong Kong

okay fine, if i buy the one's from ebay will they be good quality and fit well? Will it have a noticeable power improvement over the 3.0volt?

You will get the same kind of guarantee that you would get from a domestic supplier, none. ALL of these batteries are manufactured overseas. Any domestic source is just a distributor. We have found that in general, giving the Dilda 8V (a 3.6V battery actually recharges to 4.2V) will increase the power. Will anyone guarantee that it will work, No. ANY time you start swapping out components or adjusting settings, you are taking a chance that it won't work and/or will kill your laser.

If you want to make sure that you are getting >200mW, buy a laser from someone here. You will NOT get that guarantee by swapping the batteries in your Dilda.

Hey Daguin,
Your link for the batteries on Ebay looks like the charger is for 3.0 volt batteries.
Can you confirm this?
CHARGER SPECIFICATIONS:
- LED Charge indicator :
(Red - empty, Orange - 50% , Green - Full Charge)
- It will charge 2 (two) CR2 3V batteries at the same time (included)

I just ordered the one's form ebay (4bat + charger) for 17.50. I hope they're good :).

I also got the batteries + charger deal from ebay.
With 3.0V DX CR2's my dilda outputs 160mW (Coherent Laserchek set at 660nm)
With 3.6V CR2's my dilda outputs 217mW (Coherent Laserchek set at 660nm)
My particular dilda does not seem to overheat or display any other negative quality despite the battery voltage increase. For me, this has worked well.

FYI....

The CR2 Batteries that come with the Charger for $14.75 are 600mA Batteries..
(these are the ones I purchased as well and are running all my Red Dildas)

The CR2 Batteries for $1.00 are only 400mA batteries... :eek:

Those are about the identical results I got and first posted almost a month ago... ;)
(I used a LaserBee I and a Newport 1825-C with Thermopile head)

BTW... I did some checks on the wavelengths of the Red Dilda by testing power with our
Newport LPM... then adjusted our LaserCheck wavelength to get a similar reading...
The LaserCheck was eventually set at 654nm to get a similar reading... :-?
(I only tested the one Dilda) This may be a way to check the wavelength of other lasers...
Granted... this would only work correctly if all the LPMs used are properly calibrated...  :cool:

IIRC... someone else had already mentioned this idea a while back and was blown off..... :-/

yea laserbee, i went with these.
You sound rather knowledgeable, did u do any other "mods" to your dilda?

My batteries are unbranded. The plastic covering is translucent dark blue. The batteries are marked "CR2 600mah 3.6v" in black ink.

That's the type & color & mAh batteries I got for my dilda. Before on the green 3.0 Volt CR-2's it was putting out a steady 165 mW's according to my LASERBEE I DELUXE. After I changed to the dark blue 3.6 Volt CR-2's the mW's jumped to a steady 225mW's & made me a happy camper ;)
