GODAMN WIDESCREEN TELEVISIONS THAT DON'T ACTUALLY DISPLAY TRUE WIDESCREEN AND I MUST still BE SUBJECTED TO THOSE DAMN TITLE SCREEN ABOVE AND BELOW THE VIDEO ON MY $900 LCD WIDESCREEN TELEVISION.

Ditto here!

TV or DVD does not matter.

If the frakkin aspect ratio is correct, then why must we also have "black bars" top and bottom??

I like my projector, when I project the display, the black bars may still exist, but are irrelevant.

DVD. I've never seen a widescreen transmission coming over a television broadcast.

Really? Just about all the digital TV channels are wide screen where I live. Unless you have an analog TV, then it default to 4:3.

It might be a setting in your DVD player. Are you using an analog cable, or digital coax to connect it to the TV?

direct from DVD player to television via HDMI cable. Aspect ratio set to widescreen. Viewing widescreen movies.

As to the broadcast thing, I was mistaken. They all fill the whole screen completely. It's the dvd player that has the issue. And the reason I got a widescreen television to begin with was I was tired of the letterbox above and below the screen. So I figured OK. buy widescreen and those will go away. Sadly no.

Laserbee.... I feel your frustration.

Your pain is my pleasure :) i know your bleeding but THAT was one of the funniest things i've read so far. Bless you mate :)

Please tell me the number and let me know when you usually up for lunch ;)

Try and restrain your language... There are children on this forum.

Anyways, lately I've had this issue at work that's made me more angry than it should.. For some reason the phone is programmed to ring at exactly the same time I'm trying to eat my lunch... I stick something in the microwave, hit start, knowing I should flip it half way, and the phone rings. My burrito is frozen on the inside and burnt on the outside, so I put it on for another minute. The phone rings. I come back to my burrito and it's cold now. I put it on for another minute, the phone rings. Disheartened I decide to eat my burrito cold, but as soon as I have the thing within an inch of my mouth the phone rings. It's always some guy who starts every sentence with "Uhhhh... I've got a computer... Uhhh... It's a blue one... Uhhhhhhhhhhh.... And..... Uhhhh... I... Uhhhh..... It's broken..." I manage to solve the problem or tell him to bring it in, I sit down in front of my burrito, I eye it up pensively, I watch the clock tick by ten seconds, then as soon as I touch it the phone rings. For some reason an entire day can go by without a phone call, until I choose to eat, then it's nonstop call after call. I just don't get it. With each successive phone call I answer a little more annoyed, till I'm flat out being rude to customers. It's got to stop. I've practically got to get my food distilled down to its basic nutrients and walk around with an IV pumping it into my bloodstream if I want nourishment.

I'm normally a very calm person, but lately this one thing has been annoying the crap out of me, to the point where I'm snapping at people who ask me simple questions. Just thought I'd get that off my chest.

My first laser died last night. :(

O-like 30mw in a rayfoss host, a friend dropped it, the KTP fell off the end, it's rattling around inside now. Lens screw is epoxied in place.

It'll only be $25 to replace (if I can get that bloody press fitted module out) but sentimental value.

If you are using "burnt" movies, they can be causing the problem too.

So, I'm not interested in extremely high quality laser pointers. The ones in stock in DX are just fine for me. I want a laser that have a good beam visibility and that can burn simple things. I thought in the red 200mW in DX, but the goggles are really expensive. The focalprice for gree/blue is inexpensive, so I think I'll get a green 50mw one. Will it satisfy my conditions ?
Thank you ;D

But it's just what I did !
And then, the friend Tech_Junkie asked me a question.
If I can't answer questions in this topic, sorry.
