Yup, i pot mod all my lasers! i pot modded my 1W 445nm and it increased ten fold as well!! now i have a 10W 445nm laser.
...but like all pointers, i still need to mark whatever i'm going to burn black.

Hah, I was waiting for this thread, I knew it would pop up as soon as I saw his video...
Personally, I like kipkay, he does alot of good for the DIY community. However, he is entirely ignorant, idiotic, and possible dangerous when it comes to lasers. Think of all the poor diodes that will die because of his videos!

Except most of his "hacks" are downright silly in the sense that you end up
with something you could have gotten for a lot cheaper and doing a better job if you had simply bought the proper product in the first place.
Kinda pointless, unless you're totally bored and unimaginative.

Only "good" he does is to his rip-off laser diode shop.

@anselm: His hacks are bad instruction manuals, but they're good sources of ideas for stuff. Just my opinion. I never follow 'em step-by-step, just watch and think "hmm... what can i take away from this?"
