Omg! I had this idea a few weeks ago. Thought it was never attempted...
It could probably be done if you could transfer most the energy to heat rather than it reflecting off.

You can pop a kernal in a couple seconds with a 20W 808nm laser, co2 just burns it

Yeah I posted this when it first aired. What a big disappointment. I expected to see a reenactment of "True Genius" and all we got was a BFG laser popping a single kernel. I thought it was lame.

LOL this reminds me of another myth TJ.. it was a ninja special and they were making poison blow darts.. Grant had a laser sight on the end of his blow pipe and as he went to inspect why the dart got stuck he got hit by the laser in the eye.. i can't find the exact scene but yeah it was pretty funny...

In Moon Hoax, Jamie Hyneman casually painted his camera crew with what he stated was a 10mw green pointer. Adam Savage also lit up a camera and its operator with a green pointer in an earlier episode.

Dude..safety period. In the hydrogen car episode he put the hose of an unregulated hydrogen tank down the carb. The carb blew back and the hose caught fire. It was a miracle the fire didnt blow the whole tank. And then they both laughed :undecided:.

Or when adam inhaled Sulpher Hexafluoride.. a gas much, much heavier then air! it could stay in his lungs and since it is heavier then air he could sufficate since he cant exhale it like normal air! what a douche!

breathing in that gas isn't something uncommon... though helium is usually the more common choice..
however the proper "procedure" after breathing in Sulpher Hexafluoride and finishing your fun, would be to stand on your head and take a few quick breaths so all the gas does come out.
