It amazes me that people continue to shine lasers at planes and heli-copters.... they don't think at all

If anyone does make a "laserBay" IMO I'd leave the "Bay" off of it....a couple of years ago someone who was really frustrated at Ebay's nutty regulations regarding wildlife products (legal stuff that for some reason Ebay decided to ban) created "ZooBay" to sell wildlife products. Well, Ebay sued them. I don't know what happened as far as the outcome of that case went, but apparently Ebay considers anyone creating an online auction and using the word "bay" in the title as a copyright infringement.

There used to be some auction site called "bidbay" or something of that sort, and Ebay stomped them out too. Or at least forced them to change their name and cost them business. ::)

Hmm, I have had the idea to open a website named laser bay for some time...

Would make a hell of a court case though, is the word 'bay' now copyrighted to ebay?

Listings of hand-held lasers with an output of more than 1mW are generally not permitted on eBay. The only exceptions to this policy are club/disco/'rave' type lasers, which may generally be listed, even if their output is greater than 1mW. For further information on laser safety, please visit the HPA website.

That makes a lot more sense.....at least they are specifying "hand held" lasers, which shouldn't include anything you plug into a wall outlet.
