Hey guys! I just recieved a Laserglow Gallileo laser for christmas and I noticed online the site had nothing on its expected life so i was just curious how long do lasers generally last. The Laserglow Gallileo retails for $90 (5mW) so it looks like it should last awhile but what are your thoughts?

Seeing as it's from Laserglow, and pretty low power, you can expect a nice long life out of it- unless it gets dropped, banged around, etc etc. Solid State lasers aren't as forgiving to damage as diode lasers can be 
That being said, Laserglow is known for quality products, so don't think if the thing falls an inch onto a table it will break. I am sure Laserglow can give you a life expectancy if you email them.

Take care of it and it will outlast you. Drop it or bang it around and it will last as long as a DVD being slid across a pile of rocks

there is no such thing as 100% duty cycle. I think this has been discussed a few times on here but i forget where, its not the proper term. The proper term would be no duty cycle and im guessing since its 5mW then yes it will be fine and not build too much heat. You have to be the judge of duty cycles and base it off the heat of the laser.

I think laserglow warrants them for 6 months and have an expected life of 3000-5000 hours
