This is a link to a very interesting laser simulation tool. Shows you in a basic sense how lasers work. The page that it is hosted on also has a number of other very cool simulation tools. A lot of the simulations make very good teaching tools.

oh yea and you can use the prism simulation to help predict how different optics set ups will work.

EDIT: Just realized that there is an option to use several beams...... awesome!
