hi, ive been wondering somthing but im not sure on it, maybe you guys can answer my question

heres my question

if i get 10 high powered laser pointers, shine them into a mirrior and fuse all the beams into 1 laser, would that incrase the power of the 10 lasers into a really powerful one? Thanks!

Sure you can.

But its not as easy as you think.

LINKS BELOW-they realy need to make the links a different color.
Another project red?

I tried but failed! (1watt red)

Fiber Coupling Kit

Axicons to combine diodes for a single beam.

its hard enough making the beams for a scanner to align right let alone that many that is an amazing image.

I think the majority of the laser diodes on the right are 405nm

If you shine 10 lasers in the same place, I'm pretty sure that the power won't always equal the added power of all the lasers. Destructive interference and all that.

That 1 watt red is a link to another members build, not mine. I'm working on a quad now but its not the "typical" quad, its a 4 banger, doesn't use a PBS cube.

I think the majority of the laser diodes on the right are 405nm

Nope, no cheap 405 in that bad boy, All (direct from nicha) 447 (aka 445). but that pic does make it look like 405. If you trace the beampath you can see what I mean.

Nice!! So if i do this i be doubling the power of the laser? Like a lets say 1W laser becomes a powerful 10W laser?
