Why didn't you post this on your other identical
thread...
There is no need to open a duplicate Thread...

did you look at the die face with a lupe and light?
is there some kind of lens that is not part of the focus?
does this 'line' get longer when you change the focus?
can you remove the focus knob?
when its spread out like tha into a line it will seem dimmer - also when holding the body still and turning the focus does that line turn also or stay stationary?

I haven't looked with a lupe since I don't have one, the focus is not removeable (as far as I tried), the line doesn't grow, just gets blurry when out of focus,

so are you now seeing a huge dot thats round?
if so the problem is the lens... i think- shine a led light thru the lens..
...no lupe? no mag. glass? take apart your binoculars-

The laser light (no lens, etc) makes a half circle with blur around it...

Here's some pics of what I'm looking at.

That is normal .. the lens itself look clear ?

Yes I looked with a flashlight and don't see any faults... I shined a flashlight through it, and it came out circular, no distortion (to my eye)

Is the diode dead? The light it emits (no lens, just diode) is only visible on a surface between 0-3 inches, after that it's not really visible...

200 mW red should be visible on wall inside even in daylight. If it is not I say it's dead. I hear about red diodes being sensitive to this kind of damage.
