This is very easy to re-create at home, I tried using water from my fish tank. I had thought of using toilet water, but errr, working with fish tank water seamed nicer.

I used a <100mW DX module I housed in a die cast case with 3 x AA batteries.

Just don't use 405nm. UV typically isn't very living organism friendly. heh.

405 isn't UV.

Nope. But it just misses fitting the range of UVA by 5nm... And since most diodes can be +/- 10nm.. One could argue that some 405nm diodes are indeed UV.

But on more reading, it's only UVB and UVC that are considered 'dangerous'

So I retract my above statement. Go ahead and lase away at microorganisms with 405nm and likely no harm will befall them. :p

Yes one could, but then again one would risk looking like a knit picker.

Yep, but a win on a technicality is still a win. :D

But unless i'm being accused of lying/cheating/etc or something... What people think of me is usually pretty far down on my 'things to care about' list. I know i'm an A-hole and i'll never deny it. But I try to stay an honest one. :p
