Is this laser good?

www.rayfoss.com

Is this laser strong enough to burn through white string, pop balloons, and light candles? It looks good with 450mW and 405nm but just wanted to make sure before I buy it.

If it's up to spec, it could do those things.

We stopped recommending rayfoss long ago, due to many lasers not being up to spec and questionable service.

Try laserbtb if you can, they have good products at reasonable prices. If not, you can try O-like or lazerer, no guarantee on quality for those two though

I doubt this claim very much. single mode 405nm lasers rarely are much more powerful than 500mW unless it's a multi-mode diode 405nm. I payed $110 for my 500mW from Blord, he doesn't make much profit, that's about as rock bottom as i've heard of.

If it really is 1000mW, it's worth it, even if it is a multi-mode diode. I would recommend getting it metered by a member here to confirm it's output. theres a thread floating around somewhere with a list of LPF members with LPMs (laser power meters)

Notice the < infront of the 500 ?

This tells you the laser is not 500mW, and i doubt it will even be 100mW.
It's a gamble.

You are pushing to find a green in that power range.

You could probably find a 445 M140 in that power range for that money.
