Laser goggles vs laser glasses?

I'm somewhat new to the whole laser safety thing, but I noticed that when I wear my laser glasses, there's about a 5-10 degree angle at the bottom where light can come in. Isn't this an obvious design flaw since it can let laser light in, or is it alright because any light that came in would be at a very shallow angle and wouldn't hit my retina? Also, the sides are opened, though no light can directly reach my eyeball.

I guess what I'm asking is are any laser eyewear that can let any light in from any angle inherently flawed? I have some of these but I'm slightly nervous about playing with my laser because I like my eyes very much. How do you guys do it safely, and is it worth shelling out for goggles?

Good questions, I have read at least a couple of accounts of people on the forum who have had stray reflections enter their glasses from strange angles (i.e. beside their nose, or from the side), I even seem to recall someone who said that the laser came in from the side and REFLECTED of the glasses directly into their eye! So yes, it would seem to be quite possible.

Goggles are a MUST for anything over 5 mW.

I think the Laser Glassess is also important too. When I shop online for mobile phones, I saw the Professional Anti Green Laser Glassess in an electronic shop only for 7.59 USD . I bought it and am using it. It is really good. BUT here I think the price is not the problem, the important thing is that you must protect your eyes.
