Laser export

Can an old, dead, RF excited 12 Watt CO2 laser tube be
sent overseas? Seems this is old technology
but I'm not ready to find out if there's problems.

Legally I can't see why not Mike...
Since it is dead you are basically sending a glass tube.
The only problem I could see is it perhaps breaking in
transport.

I'm guessing the reason you're asking is because there are export restrictions on the SSY-1; that's because they're taken out of Abrams tanks and sold as military surplus.

This isn't any sort of military technology and technically is a laser component - so there shouldn't be any export restriction. Moreover, you shouldn't have any issues getting it through customs in any country (Australia included) because, as Jerry said, it's really just a glass tube and is not a functioning laser.
