Laser delivered to wrong ZIP. What do I do?

I always ship my lasers to my PO box. I ordered a laser from Fasttech and the imbeciles transposed digits in my ZIP code, and now the laser has been delivered to somewhere else in Ohio, probably to the same PO box number, but the wrong ZIP. I checked the shipping info I provided - I did enter the info correctly. Fasttech messed up.

I don't know what to do. Should I call the post office where it was delivered?

Sigh, I hate you, China. Please nuke yourself and do the world a favor.

I'd rather they nuke DC while in session right now. Sorry about the mix up, hope they fix it, how much did you potentially loose?

Not much, it was a 20 dollar laser, BUT STILL. Nothing has gone right lately and this is just the latest screw-up on a long, long line of screw-ups. I just want my stuff shipped to the correct address, NOPE, too much to ask!

I have no idea what to do though, do I talk to my PO? Call the PO it was delivered to? Will they even do anything? I'm sure the package has my name on it, plus it would have my city's name on it as well.

I have no idea why the idiots at my PO would look at it and say "Oh, yeah, it has our city on it, but the ZIP is for a town 3 hours away, DERPA DERPA GUESS I WILL FORWARD IT THERE INSTEAD." Idiots all.

I'm hoping the other person who gets it will at least tell their PO that they didn't order it, maybe their postal workers are smarter than ours.

Its automatic sorting machines that read the zip code and presort the mail, it should make its way back to you eventually.

Well, okay, a few things here.

1) If it's delivered to someone else's house, and they take possession of it, they have no responsibility or legal requirement to return it, as far as I know. It's also not the USPS's liability since it was simply addressed wrong. Though since some people are not asshats, I'd actually go ahead and write to (yes mail a letter) to the household that got your laser. They may be willing to send it back to you.

2) If you paid for a laser, and *they* misaddressed it, they still owe you a laser. Fasttech will likely give you a bunch of noise about insurance and the carrier and blah blah blah, it's all BS. Not really hopeful since (many-not all) Chinese sellers will likely dodge whatever they can to engage in customer service, but you ordered a laser, you're supposed to get it. If you don't, then do a chargeback. You don't have to go into gory detail with the credit card company, just explain that they mis-shipped it and aren't willing to re-ship it.

USPS won't deliver mail to PO boxes when the recipient's name does not match the name of the person the PO box is registered to.

It may get corrected and forwarded to you, or it may get returned to the sender... hard to say.
