Again I think we are hacking this thread ... if we want to make a discussion on "other" constests it should be done on another thread....

As stated in the OP, all discussions should be held in the original thread where this contest was planned.

Okay guys!

Submission time has finished and voting time has commenced. You will have 7 days to vote on who you think has the best laser under $100.

You may notice there are only 10 options but there are 13 contestants. The poll is limited to a maximum of 10 options. If you wish to vote for TheDukeAnumber1, jander6442 or bdgreenb, go to THIS thread.

BTW, you can vote for multiple people but choosing one is preferred (to avoid a tie).

Good luck everyone! Some really nice lasers in here! :O

So if you were in, do you not vote? Vote yourself? What's the protocol on this? :p

Good point.

If you are a contestant, just don't vote for yourself please :).

Please put the link to vote for the last 3 contestants in the OP so we aren't at as much or a disadvantage. Personally I would prefer open voting by posting in this thread.

I prob shouldn't be in it anyways, as I planned to donate a Kryton to one of the winners.

This was done quite wrong. First since there are two poles, one can vote two times.
Second A new thread needed to be started with all the entries and nothing more, and In my opinion one should post the vote since they all neet to be on one single thread.

You can already vote multiple times since its a multiple choice poll.

How does separating it make any difference? It had to be done, oh well, you can still vote for them, just at a separate location. It has 0 effect on the final song.

+1 for voting by posting in another thread. This is really unfair to the last 3 candidates...

How bout to make it "fair" you put half the entries on one poll and the other half in the other?so it's not 10-3 but 6-7?

I really don't see the issue here, we all have the common sense that if we want to vote for one of the last three, we can. I will put the link to the other thread in the OP.

Don't say that I should put them all in one poll, because I can not. Next contest I might limit it to 10 contestants.

I'd like to enter what I call "Lazer's Phaser" heh hence the name:)

This build only cost me $40 so it's definitely on the cheaper side.

Airsoft Gun/Host (sporting goods store) - $20
50mW 532nm laser module (DealXtreme) - $16
2AA Battery Pack (ebay) - $2
Momentary Switch/Trigger (ebay) - $2

I wanted to do a unique build because I figured most would enter a typical host specifically designed for a module.

Fitting the module and batter pack into the host was fairly difficult with having to tear out all the contents and then making many cuts and adjustments to fit everything in. Also, the trigger was hard to establish within the gun as well.

This laser has respectable power, especially for being under $50. I chose a clear gun so the module was visible in the host and it gives it a more techy laser feel if that makes sense.

Overall, it feels pretty sweet owning a sort of phaser/laser gun and knowing that it was only $40.
