Is this a laser, or a camera?

I was over on another forum, (not laser related), and someone made an interesting post.

This guy found what he thought was a high-speed camera, and the discussion turned into a debate on what it actually was.
They narrowed it down to either a camera, or a laser.

I've never even seen a labby in real life before, and was wondering if you guys could help identifying the device.

It's a high speed camera.

Or a security camera. One of the two.

It doesn't look like a security camera....
I'm wondering what the Beta #8 is all about..

Can he get a little deeper into the Head and see
what the Sensor is...???

Yeah I searched and searched google images. Bottom line is it's a camera of some sort.
