Laser to build miniature stars??

The California’s star power fusion facility are trying/attempting to create miniature stars using 192 lasers and 500 trillion watts of power!! This was a very interesting article that I was reading and I thought I should share

I have read that before. It is interesting how to create nuclear fusion this way. Normally they use powerfull magnets and plasma to reach very high temperatures.

In Cern scientists want to create miniature black holes and here they create miniature stars. Looks like men want to create the universe.

In my opinion they should work/spend money on better things, i dont know maybe like environment protection ..

Yes because there is no conceivable way that developing fusion technology could help the environment.

It will destroy it, and humans are well known to destroy thingx..

The fly ash emitted by a coal power plant carries into the surrounding environment 100 times more radiation than a nuclear power plant producing the same amount of energy. So tell me again why we burn coal for power?

If you took every nuclear power accident and combined them they still wouldn't release the same amount of radiation that all the coal powered power plants release in a 3 year period. No new nuclear power plant has gotten approval in the US since the 70's so instead of building nuclear power plants with newer safer technology we are relying on old technology.

I always find it interesting that our leaders in the US talk about the US being the most technologically advanced country in the world blah blah blah but we still rely on nuclear power plants that were designed in the 60's.
