so i thought i had my first laser picked out until i came across BudgetGadgets.com and found these two:

$21.66 New Keychain Green Beam Laser Pointer Pen Flashlight 30mW/50mW/100mW - BudgetGadgets.com

$33.99 Focusable Green Beam Laser Pointer Pen Flashlight AG-1006 50mW/100mW/150mW/200mW - BudgetGadgets.com

the first is not focusable and the second is but the first is $10 more dollars. i was originally going to pick this one from O-Like:

50mW transformable green laser/adjustable/burning [OLV50] - $46.44 : Welcome to O-Like.com, Your source for laser products

is BudgetGadgets a reputable site? i've real all the reviews for those two lasers and see no problem with them. they seem great for the price. and if they're true 50mW lasers like they claim to be and so is the one from O-like then i don't see the point in spending about $15 more for the one from O-like

i recently bought the 50/200mw focusable one from BG, im very happy with it.
i order from them pretty often and from my experience they are okay to buy from :D
if its the price that stopping you from getting a focusable one try these coupons (5% off)
im not 100% sure they are still active though, "RobinnTech"/ "LM5OFF8"

thank you very much for the coupons. you really think the extra $10 will be worth the focusable ability though? i mean, i'm fine with spending an extra $10 if it's gunna make a big difference but if you don't think it will and think i'll be perfectly happy with the un-focusable one then i'm just gunna get that one.

can you pop balloons or burn anything with yours? also, how visible is the beam in a lit room and in a dark room?

actually, it's about an $18 dollar difference. my mistake. so do you think the $18 will be worth it to get the focusable one?

i can pop dark colored balloons, and turn off street lights :p
18$ is a little high for focusability, if you want it for burning i'd get the focusable one, it wont be a huge difference though. i might have to get the fixed focus one myself :D

Hahahahah yeah I know what you're sayin. I mean, that price just can't be beat for a 50mW. I think I'm gunna just go with the unfocusable one and I'll let you know how it is=]

I really just wanna be able to turn off streetlights with it!

Damn dude that's sweet! I hope my 50mW will be able to do shit like that. I'm gunna most likely order it tomorrow and I'll keep you updated with it and make a video for it when I get it.

You should see the beam of a 50mW in a dark room easily. Based on what you described about burning... that laser might be putting out a lot of IR, be careful with it.
