LaserSaber: A real 'Star Wars' lightsaber at last? | Crave - CNET

This is WRONG on so many levels, I don't know where to start.

Hey kiddies, buy a real light saber and blind your friends and pets :yabbmad:

Wicked Lasers have built a polycarbonate addon to their laser which turns it into a light sabre that every star wars fan will want.

Despite their pathetic warning of 'do not enter into swordplay' and 'special eyewear is required' (which is not supplied) we all know what is going to happen.

That's not good that the media is bringing attention to WL's crap, that is just promoting it even more. :banghead:

Haven't posted in a while. Goin' back here now...

I've always seen how 'psychologically advantageous' they are to younger folk, and its so obscene in my opinion, as its strongly appeals to 'tech'... but thats the way the market works. Can't do anything but to complain... :D

Those deplorable videos on wicked are so, so propaganda. I stopped watching one after 30 seconds. Oh and also,

embarrassment on multiple levels.
Psychological-level embarrassment. It would be terrifying to have a whole load of minors entering the laser hobby without even knowing the width of a diode. Sure safety glasses, but still. Consider the carelessness of kids. Their curiosity, when allowed to let go rampant is unsafe. I'd rather teach them basic electronics and physics before letting them get a hold of a laser pointer.
