Is it neccesary to have an ir filter for a 410nm or 650nm laser?

no, only in DPSS lasers that use an IR diode and a crystal set need an IR filter. common ones are green blue and yellow.

Just FYI...

If you happen to need an IR filter, bust open any old digital camera you have laying around (and don't need anymore) and look between the lens and the actuall CMOS or CCD sensor. There will be a small square or circle of glass with a purple-ish sheen to it (you can see it if you angle the glass, back and forth under a light. -That's the IR filter for the camera. ALL digital cameras need an Infrared filter, because the chips are very sensitive to that wavelength.

Digital camera
Video camera
Phone camera
PC Camera

All of them need and have IR filters.
