Seems the second one has an IR filter, the other don't, so you won't be getting 200mW of green.

Your signature makes me want to kill someone.

Simple. Green lasers are DPSS lasers, meaning they use an IR diode + some crystals to make green light. With cheap quality lasers, a lot of the IR leaks out with the green, so essentially you have two laser beams in one. Obviously IR is invisible so you can't see it. Some companies say "100mW" green, when it can actually be something along the lines of 90mW green = 10mW IR. Those are not actual figures, just per say estimates.

green lasers use an IR diode with a dpss crystal to give you green. The dpss crystal does not block all the IR. So when the say 200mW IR filtered it means you will be getting 200mW of green. When there is no IR filter you will be getting maybe around 170mW of green and 30mW of IR

I posted some pics of the IR filtered model in the other Rayfoss topic, but I don't think a lot of people noticed..

Seems like a pretty solid looking host, I like it. Duty cycle of 5 minutes is also nice.

I would get the IR filtered one, but 300$ is out of my budget for lasers.. lol..

200mw is also over, but I'll find a way around.

Thanks a lot guys.

I kind of like the gold button, it makes the laser look simple and professional, but with a touch of style, haha.

I would love to order the $300 one, but its too damn risky with our U.S customs the way they are.

Ordering single lasers at a time, I don't think you run much of a risk. If I had to guess, I'd say maybe a 1-2% chance of seizure.
I've ordered >20 with no problems. None of the packages even had been tampered with.
