I/O Magic 16X: Usable red diode or flat plastic?

Just picked this up at a flea market. It's new in the box, still sealed and with original software including a full version of Nero. It was only $5.00.



Sure I could just tear it down and find out myself, but I'm having second thoughts destroying such a good deal. Does anyone know for sure about this model? For some reason I think this might have been one of the models that have the mostly useless (to us) flat plastic diodes.

It may have the flat plastic one, but almost ALL the 16x i have gone through back then were the TO-18 (5.6mm) diodes.. I would place my bet on that..
