I'm looking for some laser pointers...

Hello.

I'm looking for some laser pointers to modify, and sell as part of an equipment package.

First a little background. To test the concept, we took a keychain laser pointer, and glued it into a threaded fitting.

Then we screw that fitting into our fixture, use the laser for aligning the fixture, then remove it.

What I'm looking for is a reliable source for laser pointers similar to this one, or possibly just modules that we can build our own custom housing around. We want it to be safe, and nothing you need special equipment for. The dot will be about 3" from the lens, so it doesn't have to be long range.

We would be ordering 100+ at a time (more if there is a good quantity break). And we want buy the laser parts for around $1-$3, up to $5 if there is a distinct advantage in design.

Thanks in advance for your help!

That's a great deal, but I'm looking for more of an established supplier. Someone that we can buy from several times, and that will warranty their products.

All I've found are these sort of generic products like in that ebay listing, or lasers costing $50+. I need lasers that are reliable, but if they do happen to break, I need to be able to call someone about it.

Although these are on eBay, they have an actual company behind them:
Clicky

You can message them for bulk prices

I got the impression that these were to be disposable.

No, they will be reused, maybe 5-15 times a day intermittently for 2-3 minutes each time. I'm not looking for something that will last forever, but hopefully it would last a few years, and can handle a few short falls here and there.

LOL! Thanks!

Because it's a new product for my company, I can't say too much. Basically that black tube sits in a fixture that has multiple degrees of adjustment. We'll use the laser to align the tip of the tube to a point on a surface. Then we'll lock the tube in that position, remove the laser, and perform the rest of the operations.

Keep us informed when you get a prototype that you can show us...

Just be warned that their shipping is slow, but their products usually are pretty good. They ship from China

Typical shipping is 2 weeks if it is in stock.

Edit: IF what ever it is that you are making does have anything to do with guns...we should talk. :)

Also from what it sounds, your just looking for a module that will last for a long time, but doesn't really need to be top notch or high end stuff. The modules from DealExtreme should work perfectly for what u want to do.
