I was just wanting a list of some nice, weaker lasers to buy to start out my "collection" if you want to call it that. Anything above 5mW and at a reasonable price range. The max price should be about $75 or so.

Depending where you're from, check out the sales sections. You might get a 1-2W 445nm for less than $50 from time to time. If not, the best price would be.

SF501B 445nm Blue

There's also one of the cheaper 532nm greens on AliExpress or Ebay(Laser 303) for like $5-10. They differ from 50-150mw. Obviously no IR filer on them so always be careful.

Thanks. I would also like to know some reputable sites to buy from. I see all these scam-looking sites that sell "10000mW" lasers for under $10. Obviously, a huge scam. I know Ebay isn't the best, but I don't know many other sites. I only ask this because whenever I click on the yellow links that are supposed to list the "Top 50 Laser Pointer Companies - Green Lasers" (for example), it redirects me to a page with nothing on it.

A good intro to the laser hobby would be to get these 3 cheap lasers from ebay and then possibly the $75 scifi laser Ultron recommended.

For around $100 you'd get a burning red, moderately powered green, burning violet and a high powered blue laser.

If you want high quality I can personally vouch for Sanwu laser shop. A little expensive though. Roughly $100 to get started.

Make sure to get some laser safety glasses that attenuate the wavelength you are working with, also know that dpss can leak IR and that's not good, so I use the direct blues for burning and wear these: Safety

There are many lasers to be had in the 100mW range for under $25.00. Some are pointers and some are lab style that have power sources that plug into the 110 AC outlet in your wall. These are your best bet to get familiar with lasers without having to spend a lot of money up front. When I first started to collect lasers, I found many of these on eBay. But, buyer beware when you are searching there as many are exaggerated in what their power is and what the lasers can do.
