I'm building a pretty standard 2W 445nm handheld laser. I know it doesn't sound too exciting, but I am really trying to make it look good.

I'm building it into a FourSevens MMU host which I paid $120 for a year ago. Eudaimonium is machining a heatsink for me, and assuming it fits as planned I am going to get it anodized to match the flashlight, and get it engraved.

I have two ideas for the engraving of the front, and I would like to know what you guys and girls think of them.

My first idea is to just get the Aperture logo from portal the game engraved on it, centered around the diode.

And my second idea is to get this (image below) engraved. I'm also open to any other ideas.

I think the above image is perfect except that APATURE is supposed to be spelled "APERTURE". If you misspell it people will think the laser was made in China.

I am in china.

I'm joking. That's really funny and embarrassing though.

I'd recommend engraving "IV" instead of "4" because that is how it's typically displayed:beer:

I wouldn't go around advertising the output of a laser that powerful, personally.

I see your point (and I hadn't thought of it) but I feel like most people who would be irresponsible with such a laser would really not have much of an idea how much 2W really is (when focused and collimated). I could be wrong though.
