How to put diode lens tight?

i have a 445nm diode and a g1 or 2 whatever lens in it. problem is that as soon as i move my projector i have to focus the lens again because nothing it needed to hold it on its place.
How do i set it tight?

Try some teflon tape on the threads of the lens?

tape...its not really accessable inside this mount of diodes
I dont think i wanna use tape.

Teflon tape is not an adhesive tape. It is meant to seal leaking threads and to prevent threads from binding. It also helps loose threading. To use teflon tape you must remove the threaded object and then wrap the teflon around the threaded part tightly so that it forms to the threads. Then you replace the threaded item back in the socket.

It is also called plumber's tape.

I've been searching PL, I recall that andy_con had resolved this by removing the teflon tape people are advising you to use, but it turned out to be that he was using plastic lens barrels, yet it could had been somewhere else that the teflon ended up being the problem, but I have ended my search!

andy_cons' situation involved a multiple of diodes ending up going thru telecoping optics and things are WAY more critical then.
I will assume that you are using a single diode and not combining it with another, if that is the case then the teflon remedy may be all you need to do. I have no g1/2 lens setup and I will assume they use metal barrels

What I am thinking of doing for this same problem is to somehow make equally pressured dimples into the threads with a center punch, spaced around the barrel at 120 degrees each and doing this at - at least two depths down the lens barrel. This should remove the slack.

Teflon tape all the way. It's also good for cleaning the lens.

Teflon tape works well and is cheap, especially if it's something you don't want / need to keep refocusing.

An external lens spring is also a great option as it doesn't wear down like the tape does if you are making frequent focus adjustments.

Teflon is what I use but be careful. Only wrap 1 and 1/2 wraps around the top 1/3 of the threading to make sure that none gets into the module if it frays from focusing quite a bit. More a problem with portables were you are frequently adjusting the focus.
