How many 18650's to get ? W?

Say we're going for 445nm. How much maximum output power in W could we get out of ONE 18650 battery? How much out of TWO 18650's?
Guesses are okay.
Same question for ONE and TWO 16340's?

Thanks, Roy

You didn't read my question at all and missed it.
FYI I did google it and found about as much as you answered. . . nothing.

That's right if your asking how much power can the battery put out, P=IV power=current x volts, but I am not sure if that's what you were asking since you mention 445nm, if you're asking about the power output of the laser then the answer is completely different.

Well.....with an AW the max discharge rate is 10A, so that's a whopping 42.5W!!

Alternatively, if you're referring to your laser diode's output, the different combination of batteries should not change the output if it has a proper driver.

Not sure why, but the way he criticised me on my "visitor messages" (even when I helped him), sounds like USAbro

He's not USAbro, he's been asking questions that USAbro would already know the answer to. After 28 posts there would be more indication it was him. His posts don't have the same look and feel to them.

Well, you managed to chase him away.

The reason you found no answer is because it is loaded question. There is no real answer to your question any more than there is an answer to " I have a blue car with an engine. How fast will it go?". The question contains a questionable/false presupposition and it is "loaded" with that presumption.

First off --18650 and 16340 are both just physical battery dimensions--- 18mm X 65mm and 16mm X 34mm respectively

Every make amd model of either 18650 and 16340 battery has different characteristics and specifications. See a review of 20 different 18650s here: 18650 battery test with capacity curves for many cells also see here: Battery test-review 18650 summary

Once you know all the details oif the specific battery you are talking about you need to know the electrical characteristics of the driver and the electrical characteristics and light output characteristics the laser diode or DPSS assembly you are talking about--you can then figure out how many Watts of light output over what amount of time under ideal cricumstances.

The simple answer is 2 of the same make and model 18650s will have twice the amont of energy as 1 18650 same for 16340 2 of them have twice the power of 1. What that means in terms of the output of any given laser is an entirely different question with many factors to consider . For a better but simple understanding of battery capacity see: Battery capacity - Flashlight Wiki

Yes what encap said. Different batteries have different specs. Perhaps you should learn some more before you begin your build.

marcuspeh and Pi R Squared --- His proflie says " Retired Engr Professor". In the 3 days he has been a member he made 11 question threads that make you wonder how that could possibly be true. I don't think it was banned member USAbro returning under a new nickname, however, it was being very short and critical of someone attempting to help him.

Are you referring to me? If you are, I'm just fed up with the fact that he criticise me when he didn't get the answer he wants

Yes, was refering to you--saw your post before it was deleted and thought his reply was rude/ not very nice.
