Memories -- This is where I started 30 years ago in lasers. A CO2 with gold mirrors, NaCl window. Mix your gas and apply 30,000+ volts. Now adjust the mirrors HOT !!!! I finally afforded ZnSe mirrors and a NeNe to allign.....

HINT -- Buy a tube (not from Drivine 2000) and find a power supply. Be careful and have fun.

Where does the power supply get electricity? From the wall outlet? (where do you plug it in to?)

yup it plugs in - not sure where else you'd get around 1KW of power from

the carbon dioxide is sealed inside the glass tube the same way a Helium Neon laser does

Mine only takes 300W or so not including fan/pump etc. They're very efficient (up to 20%) topped only by diode lasers as far as I know.

HeNe , Argon , N[sub]2[/sub] , Copper vapour....I guess a quick google search would've done the same, but oh well.....it's no use. :-/

Right... i can't find any places where i can get these laser tubes. Which ones are more powerful? They don't sell anything but c02 on ebay.

CO2 is the most powerful. Cu vapour is also super awesome cause it's green :p

if you had done a simple search you'd know that isn't true. Ebay is littered with argon/hene/co2 lasers

1. They are all low power.
2. I typed in "laser tube", and found very few items.

I don't think you're gonna find any lowpowered CO2s.And there's bound to be a high power Argon somewhere. :p
