I just joined this site, but i'm in aus too. You can import laser modules and parts, but not the laser as a whole. I just got a 50mw module from ebay and no problem with customs. Have a look around at what power you need to burn stuff and then get the module for it, add batteries and BAM you got a high powered burning laser.

Most of the videos in youtube, are either fake or they simply swap
modules
