I have some AA rechargeable batteries in a laser host I want to use that are 1.2 volt rechargable. There are 3 joined together for 3.6 volt to 4.2 volt fully charged. How can I test these to get an amperage rating? Are all AA batteries above 2000ma? I need to make sure there above that for a 2A green laser module from O-like...the voltage is right where it needs to be, just not sure of the amps?

If you have any friends that are into RC cars most really good RC car battery chargers will tell you how much ma you are putting back in when you charge it. So from a dead batt to a full charge would tell you

From your post, I'm guessing you don't mean the capacity of the battery (usually in units of mAh--milliamp hours), but rather the maximum current that the batteries are able to put out. You can usually find that information on the web (it depends on the chemistry of the battery). If you want to find out how much current your laser draws, just hook it up in series with a power supply and an ammeter. Then, compare the current draw to your research on the internet.

The only thing I could find on the batteries from the nmanufacturer was the batteries voltage ...which I already knew.
