Hello everyone,

It has been a good bit since I have been on here but decided to hop on today and say hi. And what do I see but that 7W lasers are around? Whaaaa? That is crazy!

I just got done with Basic Training for the Air Force and am in my technical training right now to become a weather forecaster for them. It is a lot of fun but a whole lotta early mornings and they feed you the information from a hose!

How is everyone doing? Anything crazy awesome in the world of lasers lately?

Cheers

Hi, Isaac. Hope you enjoy your new job in the military. Yeah, there are 7 watt lasers, but they have terrible beam profiles. Must use cylindrical lenses to help shape it to a rectangle. Good luck and take care.

Welcome back! Good to see another long time member still around. IDK how long you've been away, but there have been some decent developments in the hobby.

3W+ 465nm diodes.
1W+ 520nm diodes.
462nm diodes.
And some crazy powerful 450nm 7Watt stuff.

Not much new stuff when it comes to yellow lasers and 488nm unfortunately.

Until I know more I'm gonna default to...terrible! Atleast if I'm wrong you will be happy not disappointed lol. Here in 8 months I'm going to have to start briefing pilots and being right always though so I will have to get it down at some point lol.

Welcome back! We have 100mW 594nm portables now :D

Yummy! I will have to find some pics of those!

Okay, that 488nm pen looks fantastic! Power output? And how much did a diode like that cost if you don't mind my asking?

The Samyang lens is legit one of the sharpest lenses I have used and if I hadn't sold my Pentax system to go Nikon I would still have it. Send me a PM with some of your favorite shots you have gotten, I would love to see them!

Welcome back Isaac. :) Yep, a lot of change has happened. The 7W 445's and 4W 465's are probably some of the most interesting.
