A lot of people are saying that anodized coatings are very durable. Wicked claims that its lasers have anodized coatings, but the coating on my laser from Wicked wears off very easily. Some people are saying that this is because the acid from our sweat erodes the coating. Are anodized coatings vulnerable to sweat (and solvents), or is it because Wicked uses materials of very low quality?

I work in anodizing and it all depends on the mils coated. Usually 1 mil of black will not come off easily(think a good soak in sodium hydroxide).
Acid from skin should not remotely bother it so the coat is way less than that if it is truely anodized.

Most of the pointer type lasers I've seen are simply painted or powder coated, NOT anodized.

I have some Ha-III anodized flashlights and believe me when I say that the coating doesn't just rub off on your hands.
Another wicked failure imo.
