Re: Where do you store your lasers?

I keep mine on top of a little wood shelf right next to my bed. The lasers them self are in handgun cases, no lie! I've found that many sporting stores sells cheap $10 padded handgun cases which work great for lasers! :D

Same here. I sold a Kimber 1911 a few years ago, and the guy didn't want the case! I can fit over a half dozen smaller units in it.

I have a cupboard and a shelve for my handhelds and labs. I also have a floor full underneath my bed of equipment and parts for unfinished projects.

I don't smoke, but there's a cigar shop in downtown Chicago that sells beautiful, ornate wooden cigar boxes for $1 each. My collections of lasers, accessories, and batteries +chargers each have their own cigar box.

Re: Where do you store your lasers?

hi,
Richie,
thank you but i have many more build i didn't post there quite a few thinking on sell some of them so i can build more. I just like building a quality laser no link inside my builds its just not worth the trouble with crapy items. If a build come out and i don't like the way it went ill tear it down and do it again tilts correct. Like to chat some more but today is my 20th anniversary so i have the obligations ,

Rich:)

Now that you mention it I have a couple cigar boxes just waiting for my lasers. I need to find the proper foam for them and saw Lifetimes ESD military foam lined ones.
So thats the next step as I need to take them out of card boxes that I store in my dresser draw below my underwear:whistle:

Re: Where do you store your lasers?

in a little case hidden somewhere. the lab laser in a box on top of my wardrobe. both hidden from view. aside from computers and a camera they are probably my most expensive assets (if push came to shove I could sell all my lasers to hobbyists and make at least £500) and are treated as such.

All mine are wrapped and boxed to keep them dust free and well insulated against any physical damage. I don't display them as it is not something I would wanted everyone who come over to know I have. Except for my bench and test equipment, everything is boxed up.

I want to ad since no one physically near me has no interest in lasers "which on a side note puzzles me on how a guy just doesn't find lasers interesting"
I have put multiple envelopes with must read first on top of the boxes, notes with just about every laser and labeled each one the best that I can for its WL, diode, strength, # of batteries needed and added a dot of red nail polish to show the polarity. Now some of my true custom pens that some members have built have a shorter than normal battery spacer, so I tape that spacer to the side of that laser.
My toy Star Trek props or any laser added prop worry's me a bit more no matter how much they are labeled because those are probably going to be picked up first and be played with and the worst fear is pointing it to someones face.
I haven't seen a member here yet say that their better half enjoys this hobby as they would be the ideal person to show the do's and dont's . I do though have a friend member's phone # written on top as the go to guy in case something were to happen.
