Guys, correct me if I'm wrong, but a FlexDrive will die at 9V, won't it? I mean I powered mine from three freshly charged 1.5V AAA cells, and the driver died along with the diode. So even if it's a BR (mine was red), the FlexDrive would be fried with the overvoltage, no?

I just looked up the manual, and it says input voltage upper cap is 5.5V.

You are correct. A V4 flex drive operates from 2.5v-6v in, 9v would likely fry it. Which is why a DDL (LM317 based) driver is a good option for higher input voltage (8.5v-12v for bluray, and about 7.2v for senkat).
