Depends on your winter gear, I have slept outside overnight at -35*C wearing exactly that (plus gauntlet style leather mitts) and slept sound until the light woke me up.
I had a buddy that was sleeping outside in a sleeping bag with a sheet of poly (thick clear plastic used in construction) wrapped around him.
In the middle of the night he woke up to a weird sound, he could just make out by the starlight, a coyote standing on top of him trying to *sniiiiiifffffffffffff* his face through the plastic.
Of course he jumped when he realized what it was and when he moved, the coyote figured it out too lol.
Don't think either one slept again that night ^_^

What I'd give to live somewhere where it snows :( Our winters never really drop below 12 deg C :(

Still though, lasers with snow looks pretty cool.
There wasnt much snow this evening:
(and also shame that my camera was set to the wrong mode before I realized it.)

Here's my 785mW 405nm, 62mW 532, and 293mW 650nm in the snow. Hasn't been snowing long, so not a lot of ground cover yet.

They are predicting 8 inches of snow here tonight.

I shall be rather furious if I have to dig my truck out of the snow in the morning...

Man I hate digging out but I must say nothing beats lasers in a snow fulled sky for me.

I was planning on getting some shots of the road into town but it was a little too tough to stop.
Most of it is 4wd and hold a lot of speed to get through the drifts but this was when I was still in town (able to back up and get a run at it)
These little drifts are 2 wheel drive easily, it would have been nice if it was all like this ^_^

I opened it up on the way in (I was one of the 2 sets of tracks) but a couple hours of course it drifted back over

Heh. Had a couple of my lasers outside this morning before sunrise in the snow. Unfortunately it's been snowing for over 24 hours here and western Iowa and it's supposed to continue until tomorrow.

That was my car this morning...

Those were the roads...

And that was my truck after work.

I did do some insane donuts in the empty lot next to my house when I got home though. I got pretty dang far in 2WD before I finally got stuck! 4x4 kicks butt in the winter time!

It was the opposite here. said 4-7" at the highest point.. we got less than 3" at my house. And the roads are already clear again for the most part.
