Hiya! My Sanwu Spiker just got here. Just have a couple of questions.

How do I switch between modes? I currently have it locked in safety mode at 10 mw, and I've not been able to get it to do anything but strobe. I also can't get it out of safety mode - half tapping five times does not work as it is purported to.

Also, I've noticed the beam is basically a line, about half a mm across and 3 mm long when focused. Is this normal?

Electronic lock:
To prevent unauthorized use, half-tap the tailcap 3 times within the first 3 seconds and wait for another 3 seconds after input. Then it will lock as safety mode(<10mw).

Unlock:
Just repeat the same process but half-tap five times instead.

And yes - that's normal. Most of the high power diodes we use have beams that are that general shape.

Yeah it's really hard to get it out of low power mode sometimes. I love my Spiker though!

And yeah many high powered diode lasers have the whole line deal. It's correctable but very hard and not worth it if you aren't good at optics. Someone here could probably fix it for you but it would probably not look quite as cool afterwards :crackup:

I think it goes low->strobe->high powered.

You can definitely tell the difference between high and low because high is extremely bright in comparison. I have the 1W 638nm:D

I love how sturdy it is even though it's stainless steel:p
