Highest suggested output for diodes?

I recently purchased some 650nm diodes rated for 5mW and a 532nm diode rated for 50mW and I was wondering what the maximum 'safe' output I could push on each of these diodes. Any and all feedback is welcome and appreciated.

Are you sure the 532 is a diode and not a DPSS?

Most of the time 5mw diodes can't really be pushed - depends on where they came from.

532 is DPSS. Either one you will likely destroy if you try to change power on them much.

Don't expect much more than rated. The 532nm will give a decent beam. I buy the $6 Fasttech 5V ones rated at <5mW and set their pots to 43mA and although most are under 100mW abut 1/4-1/3 end up over 100. Highest has been 140mW. Have no idea if yours is the same as those or not though. IF you try to adjust yours don't do it with power applied unless you have a non-conductive screwdriver.

Im not sure I understand what you are asking. If you are talking about the type of screwdriver to adjust the pot I use eramic tipped ones from Fasttech.
If you are talking about the driver for the 532nm it is the one that is attached to it. Wouldn't know what driver for those reds. I have driven them direct. Have some but haven't done anything with them.
Honestly confused what you are asking.
