I got a job! Now I have lots of $$$ to play with lasers!
I just ordered a 500mW Greenie from O-Like, the nice waterproof one. I'm gonna hunt for reviews for it now, if anybody else here has one of these (surely somebody has... it's priced so well!). I'll definitely take some pictures and review it myself once I receive it. I'm gonna be buying a camera too.
I have a question. I noticed that the 500mW 638nm Mitsubishi diodes (I have built a laser with the 300mW, less efficient version of the diode, it's fantastic) are available and at $100 are a pretty good deal.
Is there a steady supply of them? Should I hurry and pick a few of these diodes up now? I guess DTR can answer me directly since I'd be buying from him.
Because a 500mW greenie will keep me occupied for quite some time. I don't need to go and build me a 1W red just yet. But I gotta do it eventually.
Also how is the state of corrective optics for the mitsu diodes? Is it possible to use these diodes for scanners?
