Can somone help out a newbie?I'm new to the hobby and I'd like to either build a laser or buy a burning one from some place like lazerpoint.com Would it be cheaper to build a higher power laser or buy one?If I build one, i'd say my budget for starting the hobby will be around 50$ (up to 70 if i need to) and the fallowing parts i have are :
I'm using this Housing.
C6 DIY Cree LED Flashlight Full Casing/Shell with Driver Pill (2*CR123A/1*18650) - Free Shipping - DealExtreme
This Heatsink
Unanodized Aluminum Heat Sink
I want something around 150-(any number) MW and the cheaper the better! Thanks guys!

Your best bet is to go with red diodes from burners. Visit DTR's shop (just google DTR laser shop), he has every diode that was ever available in this hobby. He also carries drivers, so he should get you started.

You can grab batteries and chargers off DealExtreme, cheapest options.

That's about it. You can ask me via PM if you got any specific questions you don't feel like opening a thread for.

Well I found this 1W 1000mW 1 5W 1500mw 5 6mm 445nm Blue Laser Diode Glass Lens A140 Projector | eBay
and thiers a buy it now one for 38$ and it looks pretty sweet, comes with a lense, but I'm not exactly sure what housing I'd need for it to slide between it and the heatsink.
Would this work fine for the diode and to replace the lense?12mm Diode Module & Focusing Ring for 9.0mm Diodes
