Hi i haven't used this form a whole lot so if I'm posting in the wrong section sorry.

But anyway, I finally ordered and recived my pl532-500 got it a while back actually. Used it more when I got it. If I had to guess it has maybe an hour of total use. I was pretty careful to make sure I did cycles too.

So more recently I've just noticed that the power/visibility dims after few seconds of use. Like maybe half as bright as it had been for all the other times I've used it.

From what I've read it seams that something may be fried or bad? Crystals diod, or ?

I was looking into sending back and been really bad with it. they said to send in just laser with serial number and recept. Now that's problem too I don't know where the serial sticker is because I took it off when I got it
And not been successful finding the recipet I need to call bank and see if they can pull a record up.

But that's what I'm going though with my laser right now kinda sucks

I would try new batteries first

Jet laser also sell 532nm.. expensive but worth it.

i could also build you one as well.

What is the meaning of nm, I'm new to this laser stuff... Is the higher the better, what exactly does it accomplish?

nm determined the laser color and burning power and shorter wavelength contains more energy per photon..... That's why gamma rays can kill you while radio wave are harmless.

i think u just need new batteries or charge those u got first to verify.

I've tryed several different 18650s both Sony and lg full charge I even took some that I knew where good and working with my vape and still have the dimming issue its pretty apparent I don't have a tester so I can confirm how much it dims exactly or if it's still has power in ir
Not to sure what else I can do.
I will most likely send back see what they can do if anything.

Wavelength determines the colour - not necessarily the burning power, although in many cases that statement stands true. 5W of DPSS 532nm is likely to burn better than 5W of 445nm due to better beam specs - assuming all else is equal (absorption primarily). Now, if 445 had the same beam specs it'd burn better with the same optics because shorter wavelengths can be focused to a smaller point (Assuming the same FL lens, input beam diameter), thus you have a higher power density. The shorter wavelengths are also often more readily absorbed by more materials. Nothing to do with photon energy really - it's all down to power, power density, beam characteristics and absorption.

As for radio frequency radiation - that can kill you too, just in a different way, go stand in the path of a large microwave transmitter and tell me how you feel after a minute. You even use radio waves to cook food in your microwave oven. Gamma passes right through you for the most part actually. That's why they use gamma sources ingested or injected into the body for various medical diagnostics - PET comes to mind.

I took a video it's not the best but you can see the dot and light on the wall dim (not camera focusing) when I first power on it takes longer to dim. It used to be as bright as startup all the time.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=u2EmMjkq8o8&feature=youtu.be

ok mail them this video and see what they say ? it could be bad crystals or something perhaps..

we all know 532nm lasers are temp sensitive but it shouldnt act like that in room temp so to me it looks faulty and should go under warranty.

If i were you i would switch to a 520nm instead its diode and stable as hell and color even looks nicer.

Ok it's been a while and I tried to reply dig up old emails from them and been sending messages without reply been busy and neglected to get this over with. I will call my bank tommrow and see if they can dig up and send me a copy of my purchase.
Then I'll try once more to get a reply from them.
Got me thinking about the 520nm.
But I don't know if they will do anything for me because the purchase date was so long ago.
I will see what can do would be cool if I could upgrade the internals.
I'll post back when I send them a new email.
