When i say lens i mean the plastic part of this: http://laserpointerforums.com/attac...-i-bought-1000mw-532nm-laser-rsz_dscn2625.jpg

I just bought my first laser (sdlaser 301) the laser was getting a bit out of focus and i have found a solution in this website to realign the lens, but when i tried to realign the lens it fell out. Now, is this bad? my laser pointer now burns much better than before, but im worried that it might be more bad for my eyes, or it might break the laser pointer too. Help Please.

It looks like an IR filter to me. That's why it burns better when removed. IR light is really dangerous as you can't see it. However, it travels in the same line as the 532nm (green) light. So if you avoid looking in it you should be fine.

The thing is though, most safety glasses do not block this IR light which makes them less useful. If you already own safety glasses, then you should try reinstalling the filter. If not, then get yourself a good pair of glasses and either reinstall the filter or buy a whole new laser.
