Help with DinoDirect

Hello there, I have placed an order from DinoDirect on 9/15/2011. My last experience with the company was extremely positive and everything was wonderful. (and my products met or exceeded my expectations. lol). Although, for whatever reason, DD has stopped selling lasers over 5mW to the USA.. This was supposed to take effect on 9/16/2011. My order was CONFIRMED and ACCEPTED on 9/15/2011 at around 6-7:00PM. I have not seen any activity for awhile, so I opened a case. I asked the rep whether my stuff has been shipped out or what? I see that it has been accepted into a sorting facility in Hong Kong. But no activity for several days.. I received an email with this as quoted from "Sharon" :

"Thanks for contacting us! We are writing to inform you that the item is so popular, so we need more time to customize the item. Hope you can understand! When we ship the item to you, we will send you an email. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact us!Have a nice day!".

I responded:

"Thank you for your quick response. The packaged has already arrived at a shipping center in Hong Kong. How is this item being customized? Has a portion of my order actually been shipped or is in transit? It has been at a sorting facility for an unusually long time. Again, thank you for your sense of urgency. It means alot to me. "

I guess my main question is: What the hell is going on? No valid phone numbers to call, no activity, and USPS has no clue what I am talking about. I am beginning to wonder if Customs has seized one of the parts of my order.. and I'm a little paranoid. And would part of my order be canceled because of the >5mW ban? Im also scared and worried ill get a "customized order" of a bunch of crap <5mW pointers.. I ordered some decently powerful red, green, and 405 modules! (Way over 100mW)... Also their product description page and what not.. Thanks for any and all help and advice. Thanks

I'm in the same boat man, I ordered on the 9-6-11 and still get those stupid ass emails saying "your item will be priority once it ships"..... I ordered from tmart too on 9-20-11 and my package from them made it to the US yesterday so it should be here in a couple days. SCREW Dino direct and all their bull shit!!! I won't waste anymore time/money with them. Shadiest place I have ever dealt with BY FAR!!!! Rant over....sorry

I actually bought from Dino direct after styropyro's review of one of their lasers. They just piss me off because they don't have contact info. Just some douche on here saying " your order is in processing" and saying everything will be ok, f that.

Give it time.

Once you get to 40 days and still do not have your order in hand, make a claim with paypal or chargeback.

Not uncommon for them to show "processing" status long after the order is shipped, or you even have it in hand.

Out of sight Out of mind.

Dino direct is a relatively good company, just forget about it, go ahead your daily routines, and when it shows up you'll be pleasantly surprised and enjoy it more.

Obviously as Infinitus said after 40 days open a dispute.

Dude it's been like 2 weeks... Nothing comes from China in less than 2 weeks unless you pay for EMS or Coruier... If you did not don't be surprised if it takes upwards of a month for anything to happen. Also all those postal tracking things suck, they almost never update.. If you got your product picture and a tracking number you will eventually get it, chill.

Eh, makes sense.. China. Blah. Hong Kong, Blah.
I'm just still remembering the last purchase. I was blown away by the delivery speed. My package was tracked to the minute it seems. lol
I think I will be purchasing from O-like from now on anyways. I have heard some remarkable stuff about their handhelds and modules. Love the website, love the prices, love the selection. I really should be supporting companies like this anyways... (real-deal laser companies).

Well, the package finally came in! (At least part of it!), I would provide a link to the product I puchased, but as some of y'all know, DD, DX and Tmart stopped the sale of lasers >5mW... the page is gone. But it finally arrived at my place of work, come to discover a wonderful product inside.. I ordered the 30mW 532 and the 100mW 655 2-in-1 modules, and the 532 is decently overspec! Its not even close to TEM00, more like TEM11, (two parallel beams). The 655 is pretty nice, gives off a little bit of heat, but has a large beam diameter though, almost 4mm! There is current adjustment, and what appears to me analog modulation. Far from powerful enough for a projector, it still is kinda neat, may do some kinda diffraction grating project with them.
