Damn, that is pretty ! :D I cannot wait, man ! Weeeheooooo ! I am gonna HAVE to get some X-Y scanner action going on soon - or I am gonna go nuts ! Like I said, (I forget the time difference) but email me the amount I owe you for shipping, and I will pay-apl you straight away ! Make sure to add on the 5% that Pay-pal takes - so that way you do not end up being robbed !

So your saying you couldn't produce something like this with a lathe it would have to be poured into a mold or somehting?

Of course I'm talking about a lot more fins than what's depicted in the picture. I could just cut into it with a hacksaw couldn't I?

Yes, it could -- but a slitting saw and a dividing head would be a better choice, along with a cross slide mechanism.

Fun stuff, figuring out how to make things.

well the primary function of this heatsink I'm having made is to transmit the heat from the Aixiz module to the barrel of the flashlight. Since I'm also using it as a filler of space and is taking up the entire diameter of the flashlight barrel it is impossible to get airflow over the outside diameter and fins going around the circumfrence (spelling) would just trap the air and heat. by allowing the heat to rise out of the top of the barrel with fins that go up and down the spacer it will help some Drilling holes through the top to the bottom could also help but since there is a plastic endcap it's pointless anyway. I need to remove the heat by transmittion to the barrel of the flashlight where it will be wicked away by the air around the barrel. so no fins.

UNLESS...... I cut fins and holes in the barrel of the flashlight to allow for air movement. HMMM. will think on this.
