Thanks a lot for the help. Just to make everything clear i can use the 1.8W M140 diode with the 1.5A driver without heatsinks and it will work. and will all of this fit into the C6 or should i go for the S4. Sry for repetition i really dont want to mess things up since im working with a vary limited budget and want to make sure i dont buy something i dont want like before xP

Something will go wrong.
Something always goes wrong. :shhh:

Look again at your link to the C6 host, it comes with a pill the option for what pill is right there in front of your face, there is $1 difference in price.

Those drivers don't need heat sinking. Mine is 1.5A and does 1.5W with a 3 element lens, each diode will vary some, 1.8A will give a little more power and shorter duty cycle. The C6 is a very small host. You may also have short battery life if you buy cheap batteries, use two 16340's, or you can buy the battery extension tube and use two 18650's.

You will need a heat sink for that host for the diode module, one doesn't come with the host, any of these will work:
Heat Sinks
The copper ones are a little better but not required.

Yes you can, but those Ultrafire batteries are the cheapest lowest quality batteries, any other brand is better except for the generic blue ones with no brand name. Those may only give you a few minutes run time in that laser before they need recharging. That charger is also too cheap and may fail after some time, but if your on a budget go ahead and then get something better later. Those batteries have no protection circuit so don't over discharge them. Get any brand button top 16340 Li-Ion but buy the best you can afford. That charger also will only charge the RCR123A/16340, you may be using other size batteries in the future. Once you build this laser your going to want another one.

Also if i may ask,can i use a power supply to test the diode? And does it need to be attached to the driver or can i plug it directly?

Yes, you can use a power supply, but the
diode should always be powered through the
driver. The reason is most power supplies
are constant voltage. You need the
constant current a driver provides.

The power supply should also able to
deliver enough current, but it's hard to
know exactly how much it will draw with a
buck driver. 2 Amps is a safe amount, but
you could probably get away with 1.5A or
maybe even 1A if it is a 12V supply, but
that would be cutting it close. It will
have to be at least 6V for that diode.

Ok, so i got the parts but i got confused. Do i just solder the outer ring on the back of the driver to the brass ring no matter where they make contact, or are there + and - contacts on the ring itself?

This is the driver im using set to 1.5A

Survival Laser Driver

Thanks!
