So I used to be use lasers alot and owned quite a few good ones around the 1W area. It's been a few years since I have used them and ive noticed some are no longer working. I dont believe they simply just went bad after no use for awhile, can the batteries go bad just by sitting for a very long time? They are the rechargable kind. Kinda sad if they are broken, I used to really be into these but got out of it because I got scammed and was pretty upset about it. Trying to get back into it, but if my lasers are broken probably wont.

Have u recharged the batteries? i doubt the laser is broken but if the batteries were inside all time for years they probably just need to be recharged first.

Probably the batteries have gone dead. Check them with a voltmeter or just recharge them.

Letting batteries go without charging for too long may prevent them from being properly recharged again. If they're LiPos, going below 3 Volts will damage them permanently. Depending upon the quality, this could very well have happened. Checking the internal resistance and open voltage would be necessary for a proper diagnosis.

You need to check the batteries with a voltmeter. Bad Li-ion batteries will no longer accept a charge and the charger will just show green lights. Alternatively you can go to a vape shope/battery store and get a new battery to try.

Dont have a volt meter, i think im going to go pick up some batteries somewhere and give it a shot. It really doesnt make sense for it to just stop working if i havent used it, so il see.
