Green Volcano And Blue Balista Modding, new "13W Cyan Combination Nova" in progress !

Hi forum, I'm still alive :na:
Green Volcano and Blue Balista uses acrylic transparent canopy, a good idea by CDBEAM 777.
It beautiful to see the internal parts, but when the lasers are working, the high powered laser reflections inside the optics may be really annoying, so I created a removable 0,2 mm thickness special sleeves for the canopy, to avoid the above mentioned issues.
The foil is made by copper inside and by aluminium outside, very cool duo :yh:
As a nice side effect, the part of the acrylic tube not covered looks like a fuorescent ring. The result is very aesthetic:

It is impossible to describe You how bright are these two lasers!

.. and the Cyan Combination Nova?
Oh well, it will be a big surprise for You all: four diodes, two colours (465nm and 520nm) mixed together to create a powerful 13W acquamarine colour!
I, CD BEAM 777, my old staff and two new entries are hard working to create this milestone in the handheld laser world. All the parts will be created from the scratch, no modding anymore!
This build will be very very difficult, especially for the optical alignments, the cooling parts and the battery compartment (it will use 9x hi-drain Sony Konion VTC6 30A 18650 cells !!)
And for the first time in the story, I will be behind a CNC cutter .. stay tuned my dear friends !!!

Those sleeves are an brilliant finishing touches--unit now looking very complete and professional-- function and look just perfect!
Beautiful works of laser making art.

The Cyan Combination Nova should be another masterpiece when done---can't wait to see it--13W of cyan --wow!

Very nice, I wish I could get CDBEAM to work with me making more hosts, he's been too busy with other hosts lately. You have some beautiful creations, I admire them, who wouldn't.

Great mod. Those beams coming out of those beam expander are stunning! Love those beam shots. If ever you want to sell them ( just saying ) :). Great addition to anybody's collection. Some of the best I've ever seen . Thanks for letting us see.

Great idea Minamoto, a very classy finishing touch, not to mention the beautiful halo effect coming through the exposed acrylic!

I want one of those 13W Cyan Combination Nova lasers too, have him make two!

wow just amazing 13W :)

These look so amazing and as others have said, the halo effect looks beautiful !

I can't wait to see the 13W Cyan Combination Nova, 465nm +520nm sound very cool together.

Those look awesome! Love that halo effect too! :)

Nice addition, and your project sounds great as well as challenging.

4 MM diodes, 2 of each...wow, is the natural divergence of each color laser close, what about the other axis?

Maybe some filtering and a BE to clean it all up after you cube 2 of each with a wave plate also included no doubt and combine both those beams via a dichro plate after cyl correction of each double strength beam?

You will have to correct each double strength beam before the dicro plate and if they don't match I see all kinds of MM shadowing.

These being MM makes it interesting, I know that's an understatement.

If your 520 has different correction than your 465 then this will be even more interesting, looking forward to seeing it.

I noticed some coloured acrilic tubes on eBay they would work great, I realise there removable but covering the optics setup compleatly isn't appropriate imo, You could just use some coloured laminate,

X Redcowboy:
the shapes of the two diodes are almost identical but every beam needs a different and precise trimmering.
This is the CAD project by CDBEAM 777:

xBadboybilly: thanks for the hint, but the ring light effect is possible only when the canopy is totally obscured!

(p.s.: very nice laser ... where You bought the chrome light switch?)

I love the work you've done on the two you have shown. They are similar to some earlier build, but a 13 watt four diode laser in a handheld is going to be a remarkable accomplishment. Fantastic!
