I purchased one of them 30.00 '"green'" 1000mw laser off ebay .. I have a question on why is there this circle around the beam ? It's only visible kinda close . But when you shine the laser beam out say 50 yards I just get a bright green dot .iam try to up load a pic so somebody with a lot more knowledge on lasers can educate me on this issue. And is it worth fixing .

First off be careful with that thing, I have 2 and they don't have IR filters. So along with the green there is a lot of IR that can cause eye damage. Also it's not 1000mw, more like 100mw or less. The ring is more than likely from the lens being smudged or just a bad one. You can unscrew the focus nob and then see if the lens is dirty or scratched. Get some glasses, these will work fine for that laser.http://www.survivallaserusa.com/Eag...nm_Laser_Safety_Goggles/p1667092_7862040.aspx
Welcome to the forum, you should post on the welcome section and introduce yourself.
Hope this helped.

Could be artifacts from other parts of the laser too, such as the lens barrel or expanding lens.
