Is it just me or does LPF have the most ads you have ever seen on a forum? Some related content...

Google Updates Algorithm to Punish Websites with Excessive, Top of Page Ads

"Google has decided to take punitive actions against those websites that flood the top of their web pages with ads due to which the visitors have to scroll down to finally view the relevant contents on the page. According to Google, this type of layouts annoys the users and thus the web search company will be penalizing those websites through search results. The company disclosed this on its blog. According to Google over the top ads is not good for user experience and thus such websites might not get high ranking on Google web search."

Agreed for the most part, but fortunately for LPF there isn't much competition elsewhere. =)
Sucks for the other sites though. Haha

That would be great if they mean to include Adsense adds as well ;)

LPF must generate some income - with or without Google.

Yea I understand that websites need to generate income to survive but it really does drive me crazy when you have to scroll down a page 1/2 on a website just to get to the content. For me when I'm on LPF every page I load is 9 PAGES LONG( if I were to print them out) even if there is only one page of content there are 8 more pages of these retarded ad's on the bottom. Does this also happen to everyone else, because it also results in longer load times for my pages. If you guys scroll down past the actual content are there several pages of ad's?

Here are a few screen shots of the ad's on my pages

Good Lord. It's not that bad for me. I usually shut off adblock on pages I use frequently, but LPF is just a bit ridiculous. So I kicked in $5 and killed all the ads.

... Still gotta scroll over them when I'm on my tablet though.

I get the same thing with a TON of "save energy" ads on the bottom. This site is kind of retarded with all the ads, please let me know where I can donate $10 to remove them please!

PS - I am donating $10 because I have used this site for so long ;o)

Thats why I was wondering if donating could get rid of the ads because I recently donated $50 and if I can get rid of the ads and get faster load times because of it I would love to.

When bored at office meetings, I sometimes use my phone (Android EVO 4G) to browse the site. Even though I have a super fast 4G connection, this site still takes a LONG TIME to render. Please let me know how to remove all these damn ads.

I don't know what you guys are talking about...
It only takes every single LPF page I click on 22
seconds to load completely....

(Yeah... I just timed it..)

Yea thats how it usually is for me but sometimes even longer. PLus there are also 2 blank black pages after all the ad's. Basically every time you try to load a page that literally has 1 page of content you are actually loading anywhere from 9-11 pages. Thats insane to have 9 pages of ads minimum.

If using firefox, the adblock feature rids my screen of all the ads..
Worth every second it took to install that add-on :san:

You can also right click on large banners etc, and add custom
filters to block what isnt blocked by default in that feature.

You can donate... but I don't think it'll change those ads. After all, who wants to see money matched when they could have even more?

Well I'm using safari on my mac right now and using Adblock I set up a custom filter and it does work to get rid of all the ads and I get MUCH BETTER load times but there is one big problem, it is blocking peoples avatars, there rep bar, and all the options on the reply section I think I just need to narrow down the filter. I'll report back.

I should have clarified; donating does NOT remove ads. I just did it because I want to support LPF but not see ads. I used adblock plus in Chrome, and my mobile devices are rooted, so I use Adfree Android on those.

If you're going to use on of these methods, please consider chipping in a few dollars.
